Haiti Trip, 2008

Ruthie Lentz (GSL), Dr. Susan Nelson (Cathedral), Madge Saba (Holy Communion), Margaret and Bill Squire (retired priest and his wife, former head of the Haiti Partnership Program in Haiti), Bishop Don Johnson, and the Rev. Lee Warren (Virginia Program Director for the Stop Hunger Now organization) were in Haiti January 3-7, 2008. Starting in Port-au-Prince, they met with the Rev. Kesner Ajax (current head of the Haiti Partnership Program in Haiti), Bishop Jean Zache Duracin (Bishop of Haiti), the Rev. Oge Beauvoir (Dean of the Theological Seminary), the Sisters of St. Margaret (Episcopal convent), friends at Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and the director of St. Vincent’s Center for Handicapped Children.  Father Ajax and Father Michaud Fruitho, vicar of St. Paul’s Church, escorted them to Montrouis, where they attended the Sunday morning service at St. Paul’s and met with members of their vestry to review the commitment to our shared ministry.
